This is Extra Special. Come Explore My Town - Hershey Pa Community with Eileen Smith Voyles and be inspired by Daniel's Flag.

C-19 has limited job opportunities, so 16 year-old Daniel Vojt has turned his woodworking hobby into gainful employment by making American Flag wall art. Purchase yours to support this enterprising, young patriot!
About the flags:
Each flag measures 37 inches by 19.5 inches. Daniel sands the wood, rips 13 equal-sized pieces, then burns them with a blow torch before applying the appropriate colored stains. Four backing pieces are attached to assemble the strips into flag format. The stars are then hand-carved and a clear satin finish is applied. He adds two eyelets and a wire to the back for hanging, and stamps each flag (on the back) with a C.C. Barkley & Co. stamp (his brand).

Isn't this just an amazing story... We are local professionals who support our community. Will you join us?

I spent several weeks on the verge of tears, feeling sorry for myself and lonely. What happened to my old life? Our nice home? Our "roots?"

One afternoon, I compl...

Someday you might be texting me and then your text shows up in the family blog. Such is the case this week for Jay, my son-in-law.

In preparation for their Thanksgiving feast, earlier this week, my son-in-law, Jay, was trying out a new recipe he wanted to bring to their feast (NOTE: I've found it quite wise to try a new recipe FIRST before it's crunch time and your culinary reputation is on the line because almost inevitably, you will make at least a slight mistake the first time you make anything). So anyway, Jay was making this pie and my daughter Annie sent me pictures and told me the many intensive steps of the recipe. Homemade crust, homemade whipped cream, scratch caramel, etc. LOTS of steps. Then she sent me the pictures....
