Pronios, in my opinion, is the number one reason to live in Hershey. I know, that sounds overstated. But it’s not. They’ve been around for 100 years and usually there’s a pretty dang good reason for longevity.

Here are my top 10 reasons for loving Pronio’s.

1. They have enough selection, but not too much.
2. Which means you can gather what you need for a few meals in like 5 minutes
3. And then stand in line with no more than 2 people ahead of you before they open another register
4. Oh and the parking. You can park at the curb and literally take 10 steps to get inside the store,
5. Which is not like a showcase of hip coolness, just an old grocery store, which actually makes it hip and cool.
6. Now let’s discuss the food. They have meatloaf and meatballs that, with a bagged salad and some bread, make the most fantastic and fantastically fast meal to prepare.
7. The deli is stocked with a large variety of high quality deli meat and salads and yeah, the beef sticks in the deli. They are amazing.
8. Mike Pronio or one of his cousins are usually working there but if they aren’t...
9. All of the other helpers are super, super nice and friendly.
10. And most importantly, it’s walkable from my house and anyone else who lives in downtown Hershey.
