What does it take for your business to survive over 70 years and three generations? That’s a question for Patrick Lewis, and his dad and grandpa.

In the the 1950s, George Klick approached Alvin Lewis, Sr., a local attorney, for help in putting together a deal to buy out the Gingrich family’s small car dealership on main street in Palmyra. The lawyer and businessman struck up a partnership and named the dealership Klick Lewis. Alvin’s son, Warren, was studying and wrestling at Lehigh Valley College at this time. When Alvin got wind of his dad’s new businesses, he opted out of school and into the car business. Warren’s son, Patrick, in his mid 30s, now runs the dealership.

I hit it off immediately with Pat; he’s humble, smart, and personable; attributes I very much admire in someone who I thought might have a silver spoon between his lips. Not so.

“We worked as kids,” says Pat. “My sister and I spent many days and evenings here cleaning or sorting things or whatever needed to be done. My mom and dad put us to work.”

Pat is married to a lovely gal, Molly, whom he’s known since they were kids growing up in Hershey. They have two young daughters.

The Lewis family is a major contributor to local charities, including the Caring Cupboard, Palmyra area’s food pantry.

Filming our video with Pat was a blast because they let me drive a Corvette. I don’t know much about cars and was so surprised at how powerful it felt! Actually, powerful is a decent adjective for the Lewis family in the local community. Powerful for good.
